meraki (v.) - to do something with soul, creativity or love, leaving a piece of yourself in what you are doing
Hi! Im Coby Rachel Hobbs. I am a wedding & lifestyle photographer based in Perth, Western Australia.
I studied Fine Art & Photography at Curtin University & have been capturing love stories since 2012.
As a photographer I can appreciate the crap out of a beautiful image of a wedding dress or a well framed 'hot' couple situated on a beach- but I think true beauty is in the interactions between people & I think sometimes this can get lost in the quest of ‘pretty’.
At the very heart of it the thing that I want more than anything is to create something with meaning. Something with heart. I want to create something that is more than just a pretty image at face value. I want to create something real.
What I crave with all my heart is for someone to look at an image of a couple who might not be the thinnest or 'hottest' & see the beauty within the emotion & think 'Yes! I want someone to capture our love like this’
I am married to my best friend & the person who makes my heart beat the hardest. I am fluent in French as well as being a lover of eating all things cheese, chocolate or croissant related. I am a hopeless romantic & a die hard art history nerd. I have an problem buying more notebooks than I will ever write in. I’m kinda obsessed with #modernquilting. I believe there is nothing that can't be made better by snuggling up with a cup of tea & a great book.
My husband tells me that sometimes I can be a bit of a dork.
I embrace that.
